Esperance

It was another perfect day as we drove into Esperance and we didn't waste any time checking out the sights.

We stayed at the bathers paradise caravan park, it's only a few blocks from the water and the cheapest in town, the owners are very friendly and even suggested a few places for us to visit!

We drove to the lookout just past the centre of town to get a view and a few snaps.

Then we went for a drive a long the coast looking for Twilight beach, one of WA's most popular beaches, there are also plenty of beaches to stop at along the way.

We got the boogie board out, although the water was a bit colder than we were used, we still managed to catch a few little waves.

The next day we visited Cape Le Grand National Park, it's 56kms east of Esperance, like most of the other national parks you have to pay an entry fee, this park is about $12.

It's well worth it, there is so much to do here, fishing, swimming, hiking and you can also camp here for an extra fee.

Swimming at Cape Le Grand beach

We didnt swim down this end , too much seaweed!

Some of the beaches at the national park were voted the whitest in WA

It was freezing in the water !

More bright blue water!!

Boogie board master!

There was just beach after beach, each stop got better!!

Hellfire bay

Another stop more white sand!

We also drove onto the beach at Lucky Bay, there were a heap of campers around but we didn't swim here, we found an even better spot to swim, and this time we didn't get bogged in the sand!!

The view just around the corner from our favourite beach, Thistle cove.

It's a short but steep walk down to thistle cove.

Rated our #1 beach, the sand was packed so tight it squeaked like rubber!

Never get sick of beautiful beaches!

Could not resist a swim, we had the beach all to ourselves!

I could have stayed here all week, a great sun lounge!

We loved Esperance so much we stayed longer than expected, that gave us a chance to see some other sights including pink lake:

Was not as pink as other pink lakes we have seen!

We also went for a bike ride along the esplanade and later that night went fishing on the town pier, we didn't have much luck but did get to meet Sammy the seal who apparently makes an appearance every night hoping for the fisherman's left overs, a shame we had nothing to offer!

Sammy.

Hard to capture Sammy in the dark!
Next stop, Kalgoolie, thank god we enjoyed Esperance so much, it will be a few days before we see the coast again!
