This is going to be a rather short blog even though the Nullabor is an extremely long drive!
We left Norseman around 7 am and had no idea how far we would drive, I was surprised to see that in the first part there were trees, although after a few hours the trees were non existent and the famous Nullarbor plain showed itself.

Very Plain..... |
We made sure we shared the driving and swapped every 150 kms, we were trying to keep the van at a steady speed to save on petrol but it is easy to get a heavy foot when your on the straightest road in Australia. 146 kms of this road is officially 'the straightest section of road in all Australia', there is a sign but I was too slow with the camera and we didn't feel like turning around.
Besides shrubs we did see plenty of roadkill, road trains and more road.....

The highlight of the drive, a couple of wedge tail eagles. |
|
Still a long way to Ceduna! 1111kms. |
|
The middle of everything..... |
|
Finally the border!!! |
|
Very excited! |
We made it past the border on the first day and were so excited to see the amazing views after being bored by the nullarbor for so long!
|
One of the rest stops near the water, we were going to stay but thought we could get another few hours up our sleeves. |
We drove about 800 kms on the first day, a huge day dragging the van behind us.

Sun setting on the Nullarbor |
|
First thing in the morning at the Nullarbor. |
We pulled up at a very boring rest stop but it was getting late and we did not have a lot of choice, it was a bit eerie and we were the only ones there, although by the sounds you wouldn't think it.

Our spot for the night... |
Then it was back on the road for another massive day, we stayed just before the town 'nullarbor' and then kept driving all the way down the Eyre Peninsula to Port Lincoln, we needed to get as far away from the nullarbor as possible, and the little town of Port Lincoln was the perfect place to go!
Lots of trees and green hills, it was a bit overcast on the way down the peninsula but the rain held off, we ended up doing over 800 kms and could not wait to have a full day away from the car!
