Port Lincoln

We were so excited to be in a seaside town again and even though it was a little cooler than we were used to we were looking forward to seeing the sights.

Lots of pelicans at our caravan park.

Brenton chatting with the locals, I was hoping for a funniest home video moment!
We pulled into the Port Lincoln tourist park which is right near the water and has plenty of space and great facilities, it's also not too far from town.

Walking into town from the caravan park.

It was nice just to relax and take in the town, we decided to stay for a few days just to have some time out of the car!

The sun did come out in the afternoons.

We also did some fishing from the pier in town and caught some squid, we only had cheap squid jigs but there were plenty of squid biting!

They were huge!

Pelicans resting on the power lines.

Sun again!

We decided to use our nice day to head out to the Lincoln national park, only about a 30km drive from town and although a small entry fee applies it's worth it for the views. You can also camp out at the national park.

Not the greatest lighthouse we have seen.

Starting to get cloudy again.

More great views.
We also took our fishing gear and had a great time out on the rocks, we caught about 12 fish between us, or we may have caught the same fish 12 times, some were different sizes though so we will say they were different!

Professional fisher woman, first catch of the day, must be the pink rod!

And they kept coming!
We had so much luck at the first stop we decided to move on to another spot, we did have to jump out onto a few rocks and scare away some birds in the process but it was worth it.

Our little spot.

Brents first catch.
Brenton caught a few 'leather jackets,' we presumed by the name and the colours that they were poisonous so we threw them back,(no fish were harmed in the making of this blog) although they were rated 4 stars to eat in our fishing book, but of course we didn't read that till later.

A strange looking thing!

We also spotted a ray and a seal whilst at this spot, every time you turn your head there is a different animal to see.

We really enjoyed Port Lincoln, a really nice little town with plenty of things to keep you busy.

Our next stop brings us back to where things started, and connects our loop of one half of our Australia trip, Port Augusta, that was our first stop before heading up the Stuart Hwy toward the northern territory, a strange feeling heading back there.
